The Hoss Advantage

HOSS’s experience in SWDs and Horizontal Pumps provides our customers with significant competitive advantages.

By taking an in-depth look at all of your SWD assets and how they are being operated, we can optimize your operations, which results in lower operational cost, lower power cost, and extended equipment run times.

By combining our Optimization expertise with remote monitoring and realtime alerts, we can help lower your overall operating cost.

Lower operating costs equals a lower cost per barrel disposed. And that means more dollars going where they should…to your bottom line.

Our SWD optimization package includes, but is not limited to, the following:

Travel to the customer location to take inventory. Typical travel is one (1-4) days depending on region and distance from HOSS Headquarters, located
in Tulsa. OK.

Our information-gathering process includes, but may not be limited
to, the following:

  • Tank volume capability
  • Gun barrel or separator sizing
  • Gun barrel or separator retention time
  • Solids handling capabilities
  • HPS system design
  • HP of system
  • Pump type and stage count
  • Intake pipe sizing and layout
  • Intake piping connections, valves, and fittings
  • Discharge piping sizing and layout
  • Discharge piping connections, valves, and fittings
  • Booster Pump design
  • Pressure control valve
  • Fluid filtration devices
  • VFD or Soft Start design
  • PLC Programs available
  • Details of the run programs

Once all of the data has been gathered through the field site visit and has been provided by the company records, field operators, and others, if needed, we will build an operational scheme that best matches the data supplied. This scheme will include a plan for setting all of the setpoints to maximize the SWD capability to inject the required amount of fluid using the least amount of power while maximizing equipment longevity.

Recommended changes may include any or a combination of the
following:

  • Installation of a Power Meter or Monitoring device to accurately provide
    energy cost
  • Resetting the run scheme for the HPS system
  • Programming changes
  • Tank level control changes
  • Response time changes
  • Revising the PLC to a better control version if necessary
  • Resizing the pump stage design type or count
  • Installation of a VFD (variable speed drive)
  • Resizing an existing pressure control valve
  • Resizing a pressure control valve
  • Intake piping changes
  • Discharge piping changes
  • Filtration changes
  • Well recommendations
